How to get there
The main airport in the Algarve is Faro airport right outside the city of Faro. This is the easiest option to fly to as this airport is situated quite central in the Algarve. From here most places in the Algarve are less than a 1 hour drive away.
What to do:
The Algarve is known for its stunning beaches with golden cliffs and turquoise water. If you're a beach lover like me, you'll definitely want enjoy at least one of them! To make this easy for you I've written down my favorite beaches for you including photo's!

The Algarve is absolutely perfect for supping as there is so much to explore. Natural bridges, sea caves and clear turquoise water make this the ideal good weather activity. Just google any surf/sup school around you and they can take you on an amazing trip! It takes about half a day and usually is best in early mornings and fits perfectly in a weekend trip to the Algarve!
Go on a cliff hike!
I definitely recommend this because it's one of my favorite things to do in the Algarve. It just never get's old. There are some beautiful trails taking you along the enormous golden cliffs and the clear blue Atlantic. I've highlighted some of my favorite hikes for you here.
Explore Algarve towns
Wander around beautiful old towns like Silves, Faro, Tavira and Lagos or explore beautiful beach towns like (also) Lagos, Praia da Luz, Salema, Burgau and Carvoeiro. Visit Portuguese the markets, wander around the cute cobbled streets and try one of many great (fish) restaurants.

Rent a car! The Algarve is easy for driving and public transport is not the greatest. So especially if you like to go explore and see different places and more secluded beaches, I recommend you rent a car to get around.
